I'm new at poetry. Is this any good?

I really like this one. It has a good rhyme, and I'm wondering what word our delightful site deleted. Hmmm. No matter. I see a Civil War ball, with a young soldier who was once a dandy with his fluffy gloved hands. He's so nervous, but finally braces himself to ask a lady to dance, perhaps someone he loved before the war began, or someone who has just caught his eye for the moment. Whichever, you have a lovley talent for imagery, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.
