What happened to Bobby Ryan?

Drafted 2nd overall in the 2005 entry draft by the Anaheim Ducks. Plays with Portland Pirates in the AHL but have not heard much about his progress. Didn't expect him to play in the NHL just yet but thought I would have heard more or seen him make an appearance or two during the regular season. Anyone got more info on him?
